MEMBERSHIP

 

Why Rotary?  All Rotary clubs aim to serve their community and those in need throughout the world.  Through club service projects, members learn more about local and international issues and can volunteer their time and talents where they are most needed. Rotary is an organization where you have the opportunity to truly make a difference. Through club meetings members build friendships, enrich their personal and professional knowledge and meet other business leaders in the community. Members are welcome to attend meetings at any Rotary club anywhere in the world.  Rotary is Fun!  The meetings, projects, and social activities are Fun! Service is Fun and Rewarding!

 

Membership in Rotary is through Sponsorship by a Rotary member.  Our club brings in new members through referrals from existing 49er Rotarians.  Members are held to the high ethical standards of Rotary International, and join 49er Rotary because they want to actively serve our community and the world.  Potential members will be company owners, leaders in their organizations, or heads of their departments. Although members will conduct business with fellow 49er Rotarians, that is not the purpose nor focus of Rotary International. 

 

All 49er Rotary members actively participate in one or more of the Five Avenues of Service: Club Administration, Community Service, International Service, Membership, and New Generations (youth).

 

Attendance at weekly meetings, participation in service projects, and membership dues/costs are all requirements of 49 Rotary members. 

 

We normally meet Wednesdays at 7:00am at Trolley Junction in Nevada City. During the Coronavirus pandemic, we are meeting virtually via Zoom. Email President Marsha Burch for a link to join: marsha@49errotary.org
